Master thesis "MetaMapTox®: Metabolic Patterns and Pathways" (m/f/d)

Your master thesis will be integrated in the BASF toxicological evaluation platform MetaMapTox®, in which metabolic profiling results from toxicological studies are used to analyze toxicity pathways and underlying toxicological modes of actions for evaluation of chemical treatments. Your work can be done in either Ludwigshafen or Berlin. Your task will be the mapping of metabolic data to the biological pathways for identification of metabolic patterns based on mechanistic understanding of mode of actions. Furthermore, you will work on refining patterns using biological literature. You will support developing quantitative measures for pattern evaluation. Your results will be integrated into BASF's MetaMap® Tox metabolome database to support the interpretation of metabolic results.
Bachelor's degree in toxicology, biochemistry or a related area Ideally some work experience in your field of studies Experience in metabolism and biochemical processes as well as with scientific programming (R or Python) is a plus Sound English language skills that enable you to clearly communicate scientific results to an interdisciplinary team Motivated and creative team player
